Specialties of national cuisine

Manty (mantu) are typical Central Asian dumplings with minced meat and chopped vegetables inside a flat piece of dough. Lamb is the preferred meat, and potatoes, onions or pumpkin can be added on the choice. Then they are steamed in special pots and come in larger sizes compared to Chinese dumplings. The process of cooking is long and tiring, but the output is simply delicious. That you lick your fingers! :)

On every occasion we try to organize such evenings, and it happened couple of times in my kitchen as well. Let the pictures talk about the specialties of the national cuisine and what we like to do afterwards.

It could be perfect team building activity! Forget about paintball and treasure hunt stuff...

Chopping the lamb took lots of time. It's vital to have right equipments as well.

Working hands.

Creativity talks! It seems every region have their own view and truth about manty.

Ready to be steamed.

This is the output - even its look is delicious!

Somehow we always remember to take photos only once the meal is over :)

And that's the best conclusion for the evening after a good meal;

More photos here.
Thanks to Alex for the photos!
