Unfriendliness in Czech Republic?!
That was the complaint I kept hearing from most of the foreigners since the beginning. I just thought it has been exaggerated all the time. But, to be fairly honest, in many occassions I experienced it myself. Especially the bus/tram drivers, supermarket sales people, post office staff, or to generalize, the blue color people working in civil institutions, were the ones that left really bad impression about friendliness here. It is hard to say the same about young people though. They are modern, helpful, and friendly most of the time. It's more of older generation. And among them there are some old f*rts who can really frustrate you with their mean, unfriendly and irritating attitude. And if you speak Russian with them, then you will get even worse treatment. :)) Fyodor was here last week, and he already experienced it on few occasions.
Seems like some people are still with Communism era mindset here. And that clearly reflects on the understanding of the quality of customer service in restaurants, shops, etc.
