Shut up, Blatter!

So ugly when politics enter the sports, turns it into dirty fight. It started with Swiss media after Switzerland and Turkey were to play for in a play-off for world cup.

Swiss media's efforts on creating tension beforethe game gave efforts, and the game started with whole Swiss stadium whistling when Turkey hymn was playing, so ugly! Everybody knows that
Turkey is much more quality team than Swiss team. Turkey played badly there, not their usual performance, they lost 2-0, and maybe affected by things happened there, maybe not. After the fame, their security
guards and players insulted Turkey coach, and beat goalkeeper Volkan, and created mess in the tunnel too.
After 4 days Swiss team is arriving to Istanbul. You will get what you give. They were kept waiting in airport for 2 hours, and were met by Turkish fans who threw eggs to their bus (you asked for it!).
Before the game whole Turkey stadium was whistling when Swiss hymn was playing, I am sure that Swiss were not surprised as they knew it will come when they did the same. Well, game started with a big tension in some Turkish players, and coz of one defender's mistake,
Swiss got free penalty kick in 1st minute. and in aggregate Turkey was 3-0 down. But they showed real attitude, and played their quality game and managed to score 4 goals! The game was totally on Swiss side, Tukey pressing n dominating the game.
There was some tension in the game too. Swiss team was in panick and were busy trying to keep ball away. I was proud the way Turkey played. Unfortunately, near to end of game Turkish player passed to Swiss player by mistake and Swiss player was left one-to-one with goalkeeper.
Game finished 4:2, Turkey won, but in aggregate it was 4:4, and Swiss team qualified due to scored away goals. For this sportive success, congratulations for Switzerland!
Now it is possible to imagine emotions of players just after the game, it is not clear who started the fight, Turkish media says it is Swiss player Huggel who kicked Turkish coach assistant (below is the picture), Swiss media says it is Turkish players, also that security guards beat some Swiss players.

Well, again, Turkey players were treated the same way in Switzerland, whole turkey knows that as well as security guards, and if you are Swiss and trying to fight with Turkish in Turkey then you'll definitely be beaten up with anyone there. I guess, if I was a security guard there, with all those emotions and pity that my team lost,
and with seeing Swiss players still jumping to fight, I would also beat them. coz they were simply asking for it. you are away from home, and behave like a guest, visitor then. Fot this events, shame on both sides who were involved.
It is ugly, for things happened at both sides, both are guilty in this way, if punished then both should be given punishment.
FIFA president Blatter, of Swiss nationality, claimed that he will be strict and punishments can go upto disqualification from tournaments and was pointing at Turkey, without waiting for referee's and observers' reports, and FIFA (and its president) has no right to dictate punishments, they can suggest to FIFA Discipline Committee who will decide after hearing all witnesses and reading all official reports.
Yet, Blatter started to threaten long before the decision. He says he will not act as Swiss, but as FIFA president... We'll see... Not too long ago, FIFA made terrible mistake as a result of which Uzbekistan lost his advantage to qualify. Briefly, in first game Uzbekistan was leading 1:0, and they earned penalty kick in 1st half time. They scored. Referee accepted the goal, but after Bahrain player's protest and after talking ot side referee that another Uzbek player ran into box before penalty was kicked, he cancelled the goal. This is normal in football, but then the penalty is always repeated in this situation. The referee wanted to repeat it, but after some protest by Bahrain players, he even cancelled penalty kick! and instead he decided that actually that was a foul by Uzbek players and gave foul kick to Bahrain team!!! Such a stupid decision!
Game ended 1:0, whereas it should have been 2:0 in the first half time. Uzbek Football Federation sent report and complained to FIFA, instead of giving that goal to Uzbekistan, or automatically giving them 3:0 win, or repeating game from that penalty minute with a penalty (these are expected fair decisions normally), FIFA even cancelled their first goal and decided that match will be repeated from the beginning! Some say politics are not in football, but for some people in FIFA, rich Bahrain sheikhs are somehow more close than Uzbeks... So ugly...
As a result Uzbekistan played 1:1 at home and 0:0 in nbahrain, they lost from away goals too.
i can not take in these things as a person who hates politics in football, and as two brother nations are affected from it.
Now, it is fair to expect FIFA will give punishments to all guilty ones, not only turkish side. Let's see...
Another funny truth about Blatter who suggested woman football team players should wear sexy shorts, here.

Hi Aibek!

Before I start: This reply should by no means be anti-Turkish. It's just to show you my point of view on the whole issue, from a Swiss person (maybe even good from a person who is less emotional about soccer itself) :)

This topic is so delicate at the moment...you see, I completely agree that it was a very bad behavior of the Swiss crowd to "whistle" and boo when they played the Turkish national anthem before the game in Switzerland. But I think the whole situation just escalated like crazy! I mean, do you know what happened in the "tunnel" after the game? One of the Swiss players was seriously injured: kicked in his groin and ended up in the hospital. He now has problems with his urethra and can't play for a while, still is in pain. While it isn't clear yet whether Huggel started the kicking, or the Turkish guy isn't clear (although a video showed that Huggel only kicked that guy after he had kicked one of the Swiss players before...), that, to me, is in no way a justified behavior. Or is it justified that the Swiss team wasn't even able to be happy that they made the qualification but instead had to run away from the field immediately, as if they had to save their lives? That doesn't belong in sports, in my opinion. It was a game of soccer, not a battle in a war...And concerning the Sepp Blatter thing: It's a stupid coincidence that Sepp Blatter is Swiss, really. But what do you think should he do? Do you really think that Sepp Blatter is being biased? I understand that from a Turkish point of view, that would be the first reaction. However, there is evidence (a German reporter who was in the tunnel when the Swiss team left the stadium saw what happened, but wasn't allowed to film anything. He said he was threatened to get hurt if he did so...I'm sure you'd say now that since Germany is Switzerland's neighbor that he's making it up. Of course that source would have to be verified. But there are other indicators as well at the moment, that nobody was allowed to film in that tunnel, as if to eliminate all evidence) that things weren't handled correctly at all, meaning that security guards were told to hit the Swiss players and so on. Again, all these things need verification, which is very difficult...

That's all I can say at the moment. Huggel, yeah, he should receive punishment I guess. And I guess the Swiss should apologize about boo-ing during the Turkish national anthem. But if it can be proved that corruption was involved from the Turkish side, it could have unhappy consequences for the Turkish soccer association. It is so sad it had to get this far! And I hope that all this won't have a bad impact on Turkish-Swiss relationships....(btw, two of former best national players, are originally Turkish: The brothers Murat and Hakan Yakin :-)) Because in the end: Both teams just played really good soccer...sports can become dangerous when there are too many emotions involved I think...

Greetings from Switzerland,

Carissa

Oh, and btw, if Blatter really said that about female soccer attire: Aaaaaahh! Why does female sports always have to end up being a meat-show or a catwalk in the end? (like in Tennis) What's wrong with keeping sports just sports? If I were a female soccer player, I'd want people primarily to watch me play because of my talent and ability, not because I'm wearing hotpants...:-s Why resort to measures like that to make the world watch them? I mean, if it were purely a decision of the female players, fine...but if Sepp Blatter wants it that way, he should leave...
